Kiddly Privacy Policy

An offline learning playground for young children

Effective: 17 August 2026 Last updated: 17 August 2026

The short version

1.About this policy

This Privacy Policy explains how the mobile application Kiddly ("the App", "we", "us") handles information. The App is published by Faizan Darwesh.

Kiddly is a learning and play app designed for children aged approximately one to five years. Because the App is directed at children, we have built it to collect nothing at all. This policy describes that design in full so that parents and guardians can verify it.

By installing and using Kiddly, you agree to this policy. If you do not agree with it, please do not use the App.

2.Information we do not collect

Kiddly does not collect, transmit, sell, rent, or share any personal information. Specifically, the App does not collect:

Kiddly does not request the INTERNET permission on Android. The App has no ability to send data anywhere, because it has no network access.

3.Information stored on your device

To remember your child's progress between sessions, Kiddly saves a small amount of information in the App's private storage area on your device. This information never leaves the device and is never transmitted to us or to anyone else.

What is stored Why Where it goes
Child profile nickname and avatar choice So more than one child can use the App and keep separate progress Your device only
Reward counts (stars, rainbows, hearts) So earned rewards are still there next time Your device only
Sound, music and voice on/off settings To remember your preferences in the Parent Zone Your device only

Profile nicknames are entered by an adult in the Parent Zone and are entirely optional. We recommend using a first name or a nickname only. This information is stored in the App's own sandboxed storage, is not readable by other apps, and is not sent to any server.

4.Children's privacy

Kiddly is intended for use by young children and is designed to comply with the United States Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA), the children's provisions of the EU and UK General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR, including Article 8), and Google Play's Families policy requirements.

Because Kiddly collects no personal information whatsoever, there is no personal data belonging to a child for us to store, process, disclose, or delete. We do not knowingly or unknowingly collect personal information from children, since the App has no mechanism to do so.

The App also does not:

Adult-facing settings are placed behind the Parent Zone, which requires a press-and-hold action that a young child is unlikely to complete by accident.

The App contains exactly one link that leads outside it — a "Read the full Privacy Policy" button that opens this page in your device's browser. That link is inside the Parent Zone, behind the press-and-hold gate, so it is not reachable from any screen a child plays on. Opening it hands you over to your own browser; the App has no built-in browser and cannot display web pages itself.

5.Voice narration

Kiddly speaks letters, numbers, words and encouragement aloud using the text-to-speech engine already installed on your device. The App does not record audio and does not use the microphone.

The only text passed to the speech engine is fixed, pre-written app content — for example the letter "A", the word "Apple", or "Well done!" — and never a child's profile name or any personal information.

Please note that the text-to-speech engine is software provided by your device manufacturer or by another vendor (for example Google Text-to-Speech or Samsung TTS), not by us. Some speech engines may process text on their own servers to produce higher-quality voices, according to their own privacy policies and your device settings. Because Kiddly only ever sends generic learning words, no personal information can be exposed this way. Voice narration can be turned off entirely at any time in the Parent Zone.

6.Device permissions

Kiddly requests no runtime permissions. It does not ask for access to the camera, microphone, location, storage, contacts, or any other protected part of your device, and it does not request internet access.

7.Third-party services

Kiddly contains no third-party advertising, analytics, attribution, or tracking software development kits (SDKs).

The App is built with the Flutter framework and uses a small number of open-source software libraries solely to play sounds, speak text through the device's own speech engine, and save settings locally. None of these libraries transmit data off the device as used in Kiddly.

If you obtained Kiddly from the Google Play Store, Google's own handling of your download and account is governed by the Google Privacy Policy, which is independent of this policy and outside our control.

8.Advertising and purchases

Kiddly contains no advertisements of any kind — no banners, no interstitials, no rewarded video, and no cross-promotion of other apps. It contains no in-app purchases and no subscriptions, and it will never ask a child or a parent for payment details inside the App.

9.Device backups

If you have enabled Android's system backup feature on your device, your device's operating system may include Kiddly's locally saved settings and reward counts in your personal device backup. This backup is created and controlled by Google and your device settings, not by us, and we have no access to it. You can disable backups at any time in your device's system settings.

10.Retention and deletion

Because we hold no data, there is nothing for us to retain or delete on our side. The information described in section 3 stays on your device for as long as the App is installed.

You can remove it at any time by:

11.Security

All information the App saves is written to Android's private, per-app storage area, which the operating system isolates from other applications. Since no data is ever transmitted over a network, there is no transmission for an attacker to intercept.

No method of electronic storage is completely secure, but by keeping everything local and collecting nothing, Kiddly is designed to minimise risk as far as reasonably possible.

12.Parents' and guardians' rights

Under COPPA, the GDPR, the UK GDPR, and similar laws, parents and guardians have rights to access, correct, and delete personal information collected from their children, and to refuse further collection.

Kiddly collects no such information, so these rights are satisfied by design: there is no data held by us to access, correct, or delete, and there is no ongoing collection to refuse. Any information saved locally is fully under your control and can be erased using the steps in section 10.

If you have any question about this, please contact us using the details below and we will respond promptly.

13.Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time — for example if a future version of the App adds a new feature. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date at the top of this page and publish the new version here.

If we ever make a change that materially affects how information about children is handled, we will seek verifiable parental consent where the law requires it, before that change takes effect. We encourage you to review this page occasionally.

14.Contact us

If you have questions, concerns, or requests regarding this Privacy Policy or the App's privacy practices, please get in touch. We aim to respond within a reasonable period and in any case as required by applicable law.
